Live from Online Learning 2003

Howdy from the M-Pavillion on the Exhibit floor! We had a great first session on Monday (and we were up against the likes of Hodgins, Bonk and Aldrich). We have also have been experiencing a tremendous amount of traffic at our booth with some great discussions.

Very shortly we will posting our presentation and various and sundry links and photos (ala Jay Cross).

Thanks to all for stopping by and hope to see you at our two sessions tomorrow!

Online Learning 2003 - Session 710

Wednesday, September 24, 2003, 2:00-3:00 PM
The U.S. military -- in fact, the entire U.S. government -- is being driven to become faster and more agile and to put more decision-making information in the hands of people on the front lines. The exponential growth in the power of mobile computing devices has opened up vast new sets of possibilities from which to draw solutions to these emerging requirements. This session will examine not only the state-of-the-art but also the art-of-the-possible. Both the Academic ADL Co-Lab at the University of Wisconsin and the ADL Co-Lab in Alexandria, VA, are engaged in research into the application of mobile computing devices to learning, training and performance support issues. Come join us for a look at these efforts.

Online Learning 2003 - Session EX13

Wednesday, September 24, 2003, 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM
Whether you call it disconnected learning or m-learning, the meaning is clear: Learners want their content to be as mobile as they are. The power of PDAs is increasing to the extent that this desire can now be made a reality. In fact, some forward-thinking vendors are now leveraging the power of mobile computing platforms to make learning accessible to people in-flight, en-route and even in the office. This evaluation will examine how well these early players are doing and identify major strengths and weaknesses.

Unfortunately the PowerPoint file is about 18 MB. We are looking for ways to reduce the size, but in the meantime you can find a 5.2 MB .mov file here.
If you prefer a smaller Flash document, you can find Session #217 on the Online Learning 2003 handouts site.
